Familiar Faces… New Roles

As students and teachers gear up for another great school year, there will be a few familiar faces taking on some exciting new roles within the District.

Dr. Greg Egnor, former Stewart Elementary Principal and K-12 Special Education Director, will now be serving as the Director of Student Services. In this new role, Dr. Egnor hopes that he will have the ability to devote more time and attention to individualized student services. Most notably, Dr. Egnor would like to place a large focus on offering internal job coaching, workforce training, and work study programs to better prepare students who plan to enter the workforce after high school.

“Special Education students are entitled to job coaching,” says Dr. Egnor, “and I want to really have an exemplar program that others can duplicate.”

While there will be some aspects of his new role that Dr. Egnor will still be learning, he explains that much of the role is an extension of what he’s worked on in the past.

James Croushore, the former Assistant High School Principal, will be stepping in as the new Stewart Principal/Transportation Director. Mr. Croushore says that parents and students can expect much of the same curriculum and operations, including the flight simulator and other innovative programs, that have been in place in the past. Teachers will maintain the momentum they’ve built using Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to increase collaboration and improve instruction.

On behalf of Burrell faculty, we hope students and parents are as excited as we are to kick off the new school year!
